Hi! My name is Ardy Skinner, author of "The Lavish Cheapskate."
I have created this website as a frugal resource to help you take frugal footsteps in everyday life. Each frugal footstep will build a great foundation to living in a new freedom-- free from debt, and free from money worries.
I also share content through numerous experts from different fields who unveil the best ways to honor every dollar giving you more frugal footsteps and support the lavish cheapskate lifestyle.
The Lavish Cheapskate's mission is to help guide you to freedom from financial bondage and enable you to leverage your money savings into wealth building strategies.
I have personally lived this lifestyle for the past ten years. It took me from a mountain of debt (over $77,000.00 in credit card debt alone), to becoming debt free. And I did it as a single mother. I ventured into buying a home, buying real estate outside my home (which is paid for), and built up a "paycheck extension account."
I created this mission when I was laid off from my job. Instead of panicking, I had enough in my "paycheck extension account" to take more than a year off and pursue my dream of helping others do the same.
I began by writing the book, The Lavish Cheapskate, that I desperately needed back in 1998- when I hit my own financial rock bottom.
It not only shares the simple things you can do to free up money, it also gives a snapshot of what happens when you make simple frugal choices and "do different things" with newfound money.
So on that imfamous day when I got the news that I was laid off on January 5th, 2009, I started writing. By June, 2009 the book was completed.
What I needed was a simple, yet detailed, book that would give me strategies that were solid and simple. But more importantly, I needed positive change, and I needed it to work fast.
The book covers the simple plan, and it shows "case scenarios" of everyday people-- some single, some married... some on a limited income, and some with a dual income-- and how vastly "The Lavish Cheapskate Lifestyle" can positively affect the money you keep. Scenarios range from $25,000 to over a million.
So regardless of income, this simple plan works. It worked for me, and it has worked for many others.
So there you go. That's how this site came into fruition. It's updated frequently, so be sure to stop by often.
If you would like to find out more about my book, I offer different bonuses to expand your frugal lifestyle. I do because I know you are a frugal seeker just like me. You like getting the biggest bang for your buck! So if you want to see what bonus is now available,
I'd love to see you too live in "lavish cheapskate liberation!"
